BUNZZ VRAT SPECIAL

MASALA MAKHANA

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Makhana/ lotus seeds / foxnuts (sieved and cleaned)
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mango powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar powder (if you like.)
  • 1 tablespoon pure cow's ghee

Preparation

Step 1 : First, heat the ghee in a deep kadhai. Add the makhana and roast well for 5 minutes on low flame.

Step 2 : Then add the peanuts and slow roast for 5 minutes.

Step 3 : Check if the makhana is crunchy by pressing with fingers. If it gets crushed, it's done. Turn off the heat.

Step 4 : Then mix all the masala in 1 teaspoon melted ghee. Mix in the makhana and peanut mixture. Keep turning and mixing in the same kadhai for 5 minutes.

Step 5 : Serve with tea or juice. Cool at room temperature and store in a clean stee box with lid. Enjoy. Happy Janmashtami
